Midland 23-126 Field Strength Meter / SWR Bridge with box

This FS meter / SWR bridge is from the estate of Mike Brown, AB8NA (SK). It is missing the antenna and the connector for the field strength meter.

ICOM IC-718 100-watt 10m-160m all-mode HF transceiver — added to ACARA equipment inventory —

This transceiver is from the estate of John “Andy” Andracki, KB8ER (SK).

The ICOM IC-718 is a current-production entry-level HF transceiver and is currently available new at Universal Radio for $645. You can read more about the IC-718 at ICOM America:

Ameritron AL-811 15m – 160m 600-watt linear amplifier — SOLD to ACARA member —

This amplifier is from the estate of John “Andy” Andracki, KB8ER (SK).

From the manual: “The Ameritron AL-811 is an economical 600 watt output linear amplifier that operates reliably from 160 through 15 meters. The AL-811 uses three 811A tubes in a class AB2 grounded grid circuit. Heavy duty power supply and RF components provide a long service life for components. The AL-811 is shipped factory wired for 120 volt, 50/60 Hz power mains.”

This AL-811 is clean on the front and sides but the rear panel is scratched. Andy had applied stickers to the front panel to aid in quick band-changes; these stickers, which can be seen in the photo, should be easily removable without damage to the front panel. Included with the amplifier will be a Sultantronics Relay Saver Model LVP (http://www.sultantronics.com/product.html).

This AL-811 and Sultantronics LVP are being offered to ACARA members for $500.


Yaesu FT-101ZD 100-watt 10m-160m all-mode transceiver with CW filter and hand-mic— SOLD to ACARA member pending payment —

This transceiver is from the estate of Mike Brown, AB8NA (SK).

The FT-101ZD is all solid-state with the exception of three vacuum tubes (one 12BY7A driver & two 6146 amplifier tubes) in the transmitter. This is a “Mark II” version of the FT-101ZD and covers all bands 10m through 160m with the exception of 60m.

The receiver in this rig seems to work well but there is trouble in the transmitter section.

Drake MN-2000 1000-watt antenna matching network — sold at Mansfield Hamfest —

This antenna tuner is from the estate of John “Andy” Andracki, KB8ER (SK).

From the manual: “The MN-2000 is a wide range, impedance matching network with a built-in calibrated directional watt-meter and an antenna switching arrangement. It is a versatile tool which allows the maximum transfer of power to an antenna system.”

Andy had applied stickers to the front panel to aid in quick band-changes; these stickers, which can be seen in the photo, have since been removed. The MN-2000’s front panel, knobs, and meter are all clean and in good condition; the black cabinet (top and sides) appears to have been repainted and there’s a small dent on the back edge of the top.

This MN-2000 is being offered to ACARA members for $200.

This microphone comes with a cable equipped with a two-conductor connector. It has been tested and works although the ground-braid in the cable is open.

ICOM IC-2AT 2m FM handheld transceivers — SOLD at Columbus Hamfest —

These transceivers are from the estate of Mike Brown, AB8NA (SK).

The IC-2AT is a thumbwheel-controlled, 1-½ watt FM handheld transceiver which covers the entire FM-portion of the 2m amateur band.

Offered here are two IC-2AT HTs, one with a long rubber duck antenna and one with a conventional rubber duck antenna. Both transceivers have been tested and work well. The condition of the battery packs is untested.

Note: the IC-2AT lacks provision for sub-audible tone-encoding.

Alinco DJ-190 2m FM handheld transceiver with AA battery holder — SOLD to ACARA member —

This transceiver is from the estate of Mike Brown, AB8NA (SK).

The Alinco DJ-190 is an FM handheld transceiver which covers the entire FM-portion of the 2m amateur band. The DJ-190 is a 5-watt HT when supplied with 9.6vdc to 13.8vdc. With the supplied AA battery holder, the DJ-190 is a 1-½ watt HT.

This transceiver has been tested and works. This HT does not come with an antenna; any BNC-equipped 2m HT antenna should fit.

Plastic-base Japanese straight key — spoken for; congratulations, KD8WVX! —

This CW straight key is from the estate of Mike Brown, AB8NA (SK).

This is an inexpensive plastic-base straight key made in Japan. Despite the cheapness of the key, it has a nice feel.

This key is being offered to free to an ACARA member who is working to learn CW.

5-element 2-meter yagi, homebrew— spoken for; congratulations, KE8HRK and the OU Radio Club! —

This antenna is from the estate of Mike Brown, AB8NA (SK).

This is a nicely constructed homebrew five-element 2-meter yagi constructed for vertical polarization. This antenna would be what one would need to reach a distant 2-meter repeater.

This is antenna is offered free to an ACARA member.
