ARRL Field Day is nearly upon us! The ACARA will be participating in Field Day at the Athens County Fairgrounds. We will be competing Class 1A, meaning “One Transmitter, Club or Non-Club Group”, with one HF station and one 6m VHF station. Anyone who visits the site may operate either station, regardless of license class, and even unlicensed individuals may operate. Experienced mentors will be on-hand to help inexperienced operators. On the weekend of January 29-30, 2022, members of the ACARA met at the Jim Crouse Memorial Radio Station in the Red Cross of Southeastern Ohio to participate in the annual Winter Field Day (https://www.winterfieldday.com/) event in class “1H” (one transmitter, “home”). The ACARA will participate in the annual Winter Field Day (WFD) event on Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Jim Crouse Memorial Radio Station at the Red Crouse of Southeastern Ohio, 100 South May Avenue, Athens. WFD runs for 24 hours from 1900 UTC Saturday, January 29 through 1900 UTC Sunday, January 30. That is, from 2pm Saturday to 2pm Sunday local time. The ACARA participated in the largest operating event in the Amateur Radio calendar, ARRL Field Day, on Saturday and Sunday, June 26-27, 2021, at the Athens County Fairgrounds. The ACARA will return to the Athens County Fairgrounds the weekend of June 26 and 27, 2021 for a group operation in the ARRL Field Day event. The ACARA participated in Winter Field Day 2021 as a group in the Jim Crouse Memorial Radio Station at the Red Cross of Southeastern Ohio on Saturday, January 30, 2021. The ACARA’s Holiday Party will be on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
