The ACARA Holiday Dinner on Tuesday, December 19 at Lui Lui in Athens was declared “a good time” by those that attended. Turnout by members and guests was high and Lui Lui acquitted themselves well with good food and drink, nice presentation, and good service.
Attending the Holiday Dinner were John Biddle, W8PG; Josh Cash, KE8EAS, and his father-in-law Mike Mathues, KC8WIW; Bob Curtis, KD8FRQ, and his wife Kathy; Carl Denbow, N8VZ, and his wife Jane; Tyler Hooker, AK5HT, his wife Jessie, and his daughter Zelda; John McCutcheon, N8XWO; Drew McDaniel, W8MHV; Eric McFadden, WD8RIF; Richard Post, KB8TAD, and his wife Edie; Robert Riordan, KA4VNK, and his wife Brynn, KD8JDH; and Andy Young, KD8WVX.
At the Holiday Dinner, ACARA President Eric McFadden, WD8RIF, announced the winner of the NC8V Memorial Trophy. Eric had received scores from six ACARA members who participated in the ARRL 10-Meter Contest. The highest score by far was earned by Josh Cash, KE8EAS, who made 79 contacts in the 10-Meter Contest, earning a score of 8,520 points, and earning Josh the NC8V Memorial Trophy for a second year in a row.
