Charlie Tholin, KD8NLH, SK

Once again there is sad news to pass along.  Former member Charlie Tholin, KD8NLH, passed away July 3rd at his residence.  He was 65.  Charlie was an ACARA member from 2010-2013 following his completing the club’s licensing classes and successfully passing the Technician test March 2010.

He was a cheerful and friendly member who enjoyed talking to members and learning more about the hobby.  Sadly his illness prevented him from becoming more involved in the last few years.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 13th at 3 PM at the White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville.

You can sign the online guestbook at www.whiteschwarzelfh.com
Bob Mayer, KD8DKN, SK
It is with sadness that we report the passing of Bob Mayer, KD8DKN. He was 70 and a former member of our club. He and his late father, Jim, W5XF, participated in our club activities and he especially enjoyed solving the world’s problems at the Saturday morning brunches. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth, who on several occasions hosted our Saturday morning get-togethers.
Friends may call Saturday from 5-8 pm at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Sunday, June 1, at the Carbon Hill Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Hawk St., Carbon Hill.
The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Athens Dog Shelter: Auditor of Athens County, P.O. Box 765, Athens, OH 45701
Please sign his online guestbook at www.cardaras.com
