For those of you who knew David Underwood, there will be a potluck for his friends and family Saturday, Feb 7, 2-4 PM at St Paul’s basement. St. Paul’s Catholic church is located at 38 N. College St., Athens.  “David loved potlucks.”
It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of David Underwood, KC8RYL, on January 17th, after a short and courageous battle with lung, liver and bone cancer. David was a former member of the ACARA and continued to participate in several club projects.
David was very involved with the Athens Chapter of the Red Cross and worked on the Disaster Action Team mainly as the liaison between the Red Cross and the Athens EMA using amateur radio communications. He was also in charge of the Red Cross concessions for the ACARA Hamfest. In addition, he has supported the ACARA coverage of the Athens Marathon at the Armitage Aid Station for many years.
His family has provided an abbreviated obituary.
