The ACARA participated in the largest operating event in the Amateur Radio calendar, ARRL Field Day, on Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23, 2019, at the Athens County Fairgrounds. Five ACARA members participated in Winter Field Day 2019 at the recently updated amateur radio station at the Red Cross of Southeastern Ohio chapterhouse in Athens on Saturday, January 26. Over a period of about seven hours, a total of 61 contacts were made by Josh Cash, KE8EAS; Eric McFadden, WD8RIF; and Jeff Slattery, N8SUZ. Josh and Eric operated CW and Jeff operated SSB. The NC8V Memorial Trophy is presented annually to the ACARA member with the highest score in the ARRL 10-Meter Contest in recognition of the life and accomplishments of past-member John Cornwell, NC8V (SK).
